I’ve started to take some photos of the patch of eczema on my hand. It can sometimes be hard to tell if it is getting better or worse (depending on how much you scratch it) so the pictures will give me something to track my progress against. That should help me see what is helping and what is making it worse.

This was just when I’d started using a plaster to cover it:

After two weeks of wearing a plaster during the day you can see what appears to be contact dermatitis from the adhesive on the plaster:

Ten days on and its only getting worse:

The last photo was taken before I started using the Hc45 cream. Hopefully it won’t get any worse.
I have to cover it with a plaster but I do think the glue on the plaster is making it worse. There doesn’t seem to be any plasters that don’t use rosin which is a common cause of contact dermititus.

Just kind of curious but do you think your eczema is weather/climate/environmental?
Is this the only place you get the eczema patches?
Have you been tested for food allergies or anything along those lines?

I don’t think the patch on my hand is weather/climate/environmental related as its been there all year through various seasons. The stuff on my face definately gets worse when its dry/hot.

I’ve had it in various places over the years, arms, legs stomach, face. At the moment I have it on my hand and upper arms.

I’ve not been tested for any allergies, I don’t think it is triggered by allergies.

i have this same thing on my ring finger…
do NOT keep it moist unless you absolutely have to. covering it up makes it worse since the heat and irritation contribute to its spreading…

after having little hope with western medicine ive turned to a chinese herbalist who is helping me immensely (mind you it is a slow process and takes self discipline) she gave me some herbs to soak my hand in every night and an herbal cream to put on afterwards…it got worse before it got better, since before i did they same things you did (cover it, moisturize it ect which made it look better) she told me to stop all that and keep it as dry as possible. so far so good. my skin has its good days and bad, but i can tell after starting the herbal treatment it has helped. so maybe you would want to find an herbalist near you? or try keeping your hand dry…

oh and i also noticed foods with vitamin C irritate it a lot…so maybe you should avoid fruits and such when you have an outbreak

Omg im so sorry that u have this horrible disease! I have it too.

I have seen and tried everything, but recently just tried putting apple cider vinegar on my red spots and it does help heal. u should try it. also put on olive oil before bed, helps prevent from scratching, u can use it during the day too.

do u get it anywhere else in ur body?

I used to have it also, and still do but now is less … try to put on it every evening before going to sleep garlic.. cut some garlic and pass over it.. you will notice that will pass in time ..
    Best wishes to you all..
    :)
